1. Decide the niche/category in which you want to create your mobile site. Eg. Mobile downloads, chat, mobile blogs etc.
   
2. Detect your mobile and PC users and create separate landing page.
3. Make your site simple and don’t create a site which is specific to particular mobile phone with niches such as chat.
4. Test your mobile site using a variety of mobile devices and emulators.
5. Don’t add a lot of images and make sure that you resize your image so that it fits into the browsers of mobile devices.
6. Decide a domain name that is short and easy to remember. No mobile user will like to type a long URL.
7. Make use of link exchange directories to advertise your site. There are a lot of link exchange directories for mobile devices such as surfwap, mradar etc.
8. Update your mobile or wap site regularly.
